More than 25 companies were hailed in this year’s digital presentation.

The most outstanding Malaysian companies and startups were recognised at the second Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards 2020 held digitally on 10 September.

The Technology Excellence Awards honoured enterprises that have remarkably contributed to transforming industries through technology. For the first time, the awards were handed via visual presentation to the winners due to the pandemic.

Winning companies were also interviewed virtually to share their thoughts on winning in the prestigious awards programme.

This year’s nominations were judged by an elite panel of judges consisting of Justin Ong, Partner and FSI Financial and Regulatory Risk Leader at Deloitte Asia Pacific; Alvin SH Gan, Executive Director, Partner, Head of IT enabled Transformation (ITeT) at KPMG Malaysia; Hari Iyer, Executive Director, Advisory at BDO Kuala Lumpur; Michael Lim Jr., Managing Director at Crowe Growth Consulting Sdn Bhd; and Jade Leong, Partner, Advisory at Ernst & Young Advisory Services Sdn Bhd.

COVID-19: Pesakit terjun dari tingkat 8

KOTA KINABALU: Seorang wanita yang sebelum ini disahkan positif COVID-19 ditemui mati dipercayai terjun dari tingkat lapan bangunan Hospital Queen Elizabeth I (HQE I), di sini, 9.15 malam tadi.

Wanita warga tempatan berusia 63 tahun itu dikatakan terjun dari tingkap di tingkat lapan bangunan hospital berkenaan sebelum disedari pihak hospital yang kemudiannya memaklumkan kepada polis.

Ketua Polis Daerah Kota Kinabalu, Asisten Komisioner Habibi Majinji, berkata siasatan awal mendapati mangsa dimasukkan ke hospital berkenaan pada 13 Oktober lalu selepas disahkan positif COVID-19.

Katanya, selepas mendapatkan rawatan lanjut, mangsa disahkan bebas penyakit berkenaan dan dibenarkan keluar dari HQE I, hari ini.

“Mayat mangsa kini ditempatkan di Jabatan Forensik HQE I, sementara menunggu siasatan lanjut punca mangsa membunuh diri.

“Pihak polis sedang menjalankan siasat bagi mengenalpasti punca mangsa terjun termasuk mencari saksi di tempat kejadian,” katanya ketika dihubungi, hari ini.

Habibi berkata, setakat ini kes diklasifikasikan sebagai kematian mengejut dan orang awam yang mempunyai maklumat berhubung mangsa diminta tampil membantu siasatan. – Berita Harian
