16 Sept 2018 – Kamek Miak Sarawak (also formally known as KMS), a viral community portal in Sarawak is soft launching its new website kamekmiaksarawak.com and its official Facebook Page: facebook.com/kmsupdate as a new-joint venture company with Karuna (Sarawak) Enterprise Sdn Bhd who runs Karuna Web Design, Winner of Malaysia’s Best Website Award 2017.

The new website will have the usual Lifestyle and Food news category with the addition of Fashion, Travel, Politics and KMS TV on the new site. It will also feature a calendar of social and music events happening in Sarawak.
KMS has approximately 440 thousand active followers in Sarawak and around the world because of its honest news approach and its ability to voice the common view of the Sarawakian community.

The website sees 1.5 million visitors a month and the Facebook page has 6 million viewership monthly who come to be kept informed of important community updates and happenings in Kuching.

New features to look forward to on the new website will be a KMS Job Portal which will feature free job listings for companies to advertise their job vacancies to our audience and to create more job openings for Sarawakians.

The History of KMS

KMS started as a venture by Qadafi Bin Johari who saw a need for a community page for Sarawakians to voice their opinion and share current happenings in Sarawak. This passion evolved into full-time newswriting and reporting of community events. You will likely see KMS at the forefront of any new festivals, events and happenings in Sarawak, restaurant openings and official functions.

Today, KMS has 5 independent writers and is supported by seed capital from the newly formed KMS Media Sdn Bhd company, guided by experienced web developers, designers and digital marketing experts from Karuna Web Design and guidance from seasoned businessman Hadzman Johny.

KMS is an independent media company that supports itself from advertisements from SME’s and corporations and intends to encourage common people to write and share their ideas. KMS hopes to see the emergence of new writers and encourage the growth of the journalism industry in Sarawak.

CABARAN pandemik COVID-19 belum tamat. Sehingga kini, lebih 51 juta penduduk dunia dijangkiti virus dengan lebih 1.27 juta kematian.

Bagi membendung penularan, kita sentiasa diingatkan kepentingan mematuhi prosedur operasi standard (SOP). Ini termasuk mengamalkan penjarakan fizikal, kerap membasuh tangan, mengelak tempat sesak dan memakai pelitup muka.

Limbang: Sepasukan anggota dari Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat (BBP) Limbang memindahkan buaya seberat 800 kilogram sepanjang lima meter yang ditangkap di parit di Taman Perumahan St Edmund Limbang, di sini, semalam, ke kawasan selamat pagi hari ini.

BBP Limbang dalam kenyataannya berkata, sekitar 11 malam, reptilia itu ditemukan tersesat di dalam parit di kawasan perumahan itu menyebabkan kegelisahan penduduk di situ.

Justeru, katanya, sepasukan bomba dikerah ke lokasi membantu bagi menangkap serta mengikat buaya berkenaan di parit berdekatan kawasan perumahan berkenaan.

“Hari ini, bomba dengan bantuan Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) ke lokasi menjalankan khidmat khas pada 8.25 pagi untuk memindahkan buaya itu.

“Pasukan bomba dengan bantuan tujuh anggota SFC mengambil masa hampir satu jam mengangkat buaya tembaga itu ke darat dengan menggunakanΒ forklift,” katanya, hari ini.

Menurut kenyataan itu lagi, buaya diletakkan dalam kenderaan khas kemudiannya diserahkan kepada SFC untuk dihantar ke lokasi penyimpanan SFC di Kubong. – Harian Metro
